Working Together for Better Hospice Care

The Hospice Alliance Northern Ireland exists to represent the collective interests of the hospice sector and the people who rely on hospice services.

  • We engage with government, policymakers and health leaders to champion hospice and palliative care and secure sustainable funding for the future. 

    The Alliance is working towards a fair statutory funding model for charitable hospice providers across Northern Ireland. 

  • We gather and analyse information about hospice services, costs, outcomes, patient impact and benefits to the wider health service to ensure policy decisions are informed by evidence

  • Hospices provide specialist care that improves quality of life, supports families and helps reduce pressure on hospitals and health services. The Alliance works to demonstrate this value and ensure it is recognised within health policy and funding decisions. 

  • The Alliance seeks practical solutions that will strengthen hospice care for current and future generations. This includes influencing policy, funding structures and long-term planning for palliative and end-of-life care.

  • Hospice care touches thousands of lives across Northern Ireland every year. Yet demand is growing, services are under increasing pressure, and the current funding model is becoming increasingly unsustainable.

    The Hospice Alliance Northern Ireland exists to ensure that patients and families continue to have access to the care and support they need, now and in the future. Through collective leadership, shared evidence and strong advocacy, the Alliance is working to secure a sustainable future for hospice and palliative care across Northern Ireland.
